AIC Annual Review 2025, Vol. 39

As the newly appointed Annual Review Editor of the International Colour Association (AIC), I am delighted to present the latest edition of the AIC Annual Review, Volume 39 (2025). Please note that the file size is 101 MB, so downloading may take a few seconds. Following a hacking incident earlier this year, I have rebuilt the publishing web pages for the AIC Annual Review (AIC AR). This gave me the opportunity to add content summaries to the first 15 volumes that didn’t have one.
Ingrid Calvo Ivanovic and I enjoyed a highly productive collaboration. Ingrid created the striking colour design and visual layout, while I collected and carefully edited the submissions, structured the volume, and translated texts from Spanish for the International Colour Day section. It was hard work, but we are pleased with the outcome. I recognize the effort involved and would like to thank Ingrid and all the authors most sincerely for their contributions. Without their valuable input and engagement, the annual review would not be so insightful, meaningful and visually appealing. Having now gained experience, I realize how much work goes into writing a report, and how long it takes to produce an edition.
The importance of contributing to the Annual Review is addressed in the Editor's Note. The 2025 President's Report provides insights into the changes undergone by the AIC. This edition features presentations of the three recipients of the AIC Awards (the Judd Award, the CADE Award, and the recently introduced Sphere Award), as well as information about AIC2025, AIC2026, and AIC2027. Twenty-two regular members and five study groups share informative and fascinating details about their research and activities. Special sections cover International Colour Day events and In Memoriam tributes.
I hope you enjoy reading the Annual Review and find it helpful for gaining insight into colour research and the activities of the International Colour Association.
